Dear Academic Games community,
These past few days have been challenging for everyone. So much has been disrupted in everyone’s daily lives and continues to be. Many of you, our Academic Games family, were upset by the news of the cancelation of the 2020 AGLOA National Tournament but have been understanding of the decision made out of concern for our potential attendees’ safety.
For all 12th-grade students, the final weeks of high school should be a time that is exciting and joyous for them as they finish their careers at their current school and move on to a new chapter in their lives. AGLOA does not want the interruption caused by our current national emergency to be the defining moment for our senior students.
In an effort to continue to recognize those graduating seniors who have enviable competitive records and have given of themselves to promote the spirit of Academic Games in their own schools and leagues, AGLOA will accept nominations for the 2020 Outstanding Senior Award.
Instead of being recognized at our annual national tournament, the 2020 Outstanding Seniors will be formally recognized on our website and social media.
Those interested in submitting a nominee who exhibits the highest qualities of character and sportsmanship should complete the 2020 AGLOA Outstanding Senior Nomination Form and email their nomination and accompanying photo to me at Rod.Beard@agloa.org.
We look forward to being able to continue to honor exemplary Academic Games competitors even if we cannot celebrate together at the closing ceremony of the national tournament.
