2017 AGLOA National Tournament in Wheeling, West Virginia – Online Schedule

2017 AGLOA National Tournament

Over 1,100 people will converge on Wheeling, WV, April 28 for the 52nd annual Academic Games National Tournament. They will come from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Louisiana, Colorado, and, for the first time, Oklahoma.

This tournament boasts several other firsts:

• First time tournament play starts the first afternoon rather than the first evening;
• First time Current Events is played as a separate game from Theme.

Unfortunately, it is also the first tournament without Larry Liss, a beloved founder of AGLOA, who passed away in December. Larry will be fondly remembered at the opening ceremonies Friday night.

Down Memory Lane

2017 marks the seventh year that the national tournament has been held at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV. 1994 – attendance 922 1995 – attendance 987 1999 – attendance 1,063 2003 – attendance 982 2007 – attendance 1,048 2012 – attendance 794 This is the first year that AGLOA has the entire resort for the tournament. So an attendance record will be set.
