When a student joins Academic Games, communicate with the parents as soon as possible. Send a letter home with the student that includes the following:
- A statement that the student has joined the team.
- An expression of your eagerness to work with the student.
- A copy of the practice/match schedule.
- A request that the parents honor the schedule and avoid creating conflicts with practices or, especially, competitions by scheduling doctor’s appointments or other activities.
Continue to send reports to parents periodically throughout the school year about how the team is doing.
